This role is fully remote and a 1099 Contract Role


The Due Diligence Compliance Underwriter will be responsible for assessing residential mortgage loans for adherence to regulatory compliance regulations, including but not limited to, those criteria stipulated by the nationally recognized statistical rating organizations for third party review of residential mortgage loans. This assessment will encompass aspects of TRID, State and Federal regulations, RESPA 2010, and aspects of the Qualified Mortgage (QM) rule. In addition to compliance underwriting responsibilities, the Due Diligence Compliance Underwriter will also perform standard due diligence underwriting functions, as requested. RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties shall include but not necessarily be limited to: • Evaluation of residential mortgage loan documents to determine whether the loan complies with the applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements. • Confirm delivery, timing, execution, and completeness of all State and Federal documentation. • Capture fee related data from applicable disclosures to perform tolerance testing utilizing compliance analyzer engine. • Identify compliance discrepancies, analyze, and interpret compliance reports, and create, update, and satisfy loan level exceptions. • Perform standard due diligence underwriting functions such as loan and income calculations, documentation review, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education and Experience: • Experience: minimum 3 years recent Due Diligence compliance review and underwriting experience with proficiency in understanding TRID and an applied understanding of mortgage loan regulatory compliance. • Computer Skills: strong background with the use of computer programs used to manufacture or review mortgage loans and standard knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite. Desirable Attributes: Candidates demonstrating the following attributes will have an increased chance of success in the role: • Familiarity with credit rating agency review standards. • Strong written communication skills. • Associates or bachelor’s degree (AA/AS or BA/BS) preferred. • Soft skills: time management, thoughtfulness, reason and problem solving, and professional communication.
