Compliance Manager
Location: Brea, CA (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time permanent 
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead compliance operations across retail, wholesale, and correspondent mortgage channels. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to federal and state mortgage regulations, mitigating compliance risks, and supporting business objectives through effective compliance oversight and leadership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive mortgage compliance experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for mortgage compliance regulations, including:
TRID
ECOA
HMDA
ATR/QM
RESPA
Fair Lending Laws
Interpret regulatory requirements and provide compliance guidance to business leaders and stakeholders.
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring programs.
Oversee compliance controls, reporting processes, and documentation.
Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks to senior management.
Monitor regulatory changes and evaluate operational impacts.
Lead internal compliance audits and support regulatory examinations.
Manage, mentor, and develop compliance team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare reports and recommendations to support risk management initiatives.
 
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of progressive mortgage compliance experience.
Prior leadership or people-management experience within a compliance function.
Strong knowledge of:
Conventional Mortgage Lending
Government Mortgage Programs
Non-Agency Mortgage Products
Federal and State Mortgage Compliance Regulations
Experience conducting compliance audits, monitoring, and risk assessments.
Ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical business guidance.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Multi-State MLO License preferred.
