Braveheart Mental Health Psychotherapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Mental Health Specialist to focus on mood disorders. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide mental health care to individuals navigating challenges including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. As part of our esteemed psychiatry practice located in Islip, New York, you will be instrumental in delivering tailored interventions that promote mental well-being and contribute positively to the lives of our clients.

Work Environment

This position operates fully in a remote telehealth format, allowing for flexible scheduling while maintaining high-quality care delivery. The work hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis. By harnessing technology, we are able to reach clients from various backgrounds and provide them with the mental health support they need from the comfort of their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
  • Collaboratively craft individualized treatment plans that align with each client's personal goals, preferences, and specific needs, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to address mood disorders effectively.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, offering guidance on treatment options and self-care techniques to support their journey to wellness.
  • Track and monitor client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on outcomes and feedback to optimize care.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care for clients, facilitating referrals or medication management when necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals experiencing mood disorders, focusing on developing meaningful therapeutic relationships. Our client population is diverse, encompassing various ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses, and is characterized by an openness to receiving care through innovative telehealth services.

Qualifications
  • A valid and current licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, LMFT, or PsyD in the state of New York.
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to connect and build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience specializing exclusively in mood disorders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacology to effectively collaborate with medical professionals.
  • A proven record of successful therapeutic outcomes in treating mood disorders.
