Job description

Modern Recovery Services is a fast growing behavioral health provider for virtual intensive outpatient and outpatient services for adults and adolescents. The Psychologist's role is to provide therapeutic support to clients enrolled in services at Modern Recovery. The Psychologist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to clients and their families. The Psychologist works in collaboration with the clinical team to meet the clients' needs, in accordance with their treatment plan, by facilitating individual sessions for clients in need of these services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide individual therapy to clients and their families as indicated. Assist clients in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Facilitate the transition from professional services to community-based services.
  • Promote self-advocacy by assisting clients to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of clinical services.
  • Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the client's goals and interests.
  • Identify barriers (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
  • Ensure consistent completion of documentation including but not limited to session notes, group notes, treatment plans, utilization review reports and discharge summaries.
  • Attend staff meetings and provide clinical observations and recommendations regarding client care.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with clinical director to ensure clinical services provided follow best practice and utilize the weekly supervision to enhance clinical skills.
  • Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed master-level psychologists.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED
  1. Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, video conferencing, email, and spreadsheets.
  2. Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with mental health and substance abuse clients.
  3. Ability to provide services via video conferencing/teletherapy. Teletherapy may include evaluation, assessment, consultation, treatment planning, case management, coaching, individual therapy and group therapy. Telehealth will occur primarily through interactive audio, video, telephone and/or other audio/video communications.
  4. Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans and psychiatric reports.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts.
  6. Ability to plan and organize case workload, manage deadlines of him/herself.
  7. Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.
  8. Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights.
  9. Makes clinical and organizational decisions with the clients' and agency's well-being and best interests in mind.
  10. Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency.
  11. Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.
  12. Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
  13. Provide ethical and professional services to clients and families ensuring confidentiality laws including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) are adhered to at all times.
  14. Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency.

Qualifications:
  • AZDPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (preferred, will be required to obtain)
  • Licensed in PSYPACT
  • Hold a PhD

Experience:
  • Behavioral health and addictions: 1 year (Required)
