The Opportunity

This leadership role is responsible for defining and driving the overarching Consumer Lending marketing strategy and prioritization. You will lead a team of product marketers with a strong focus on acquisition, developing and executing innovative marketing strategies, and optimizing performance to deliver measurable, sustainable growth.
Your core focus will be to shape the strategic direction of marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities. You will champion a continuous test-and-learn agenda, driving improvements in marketing initiatives and strategically allocating marketing investments to achieve efficient Cost per Account (CPAs). This includes ideating, planning, launching, measuring, and optimizing marketing campaigns.

As the leader of the marketing budget, you will collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders, including Product, Risk, and Analytics teams, to champion strategic initiatives and drive impactful growth. Your strategic vision and prioritization skills will be critical in setting the pace for future success.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Directs and oversees the planning for a fully digital-first marketing lifecycle, inclusive of strategy, member research, planning, direct response marketing, agency management, creative development, compliant execution, analytics and optimization, and performance management.
  • Directs and oversees the development and implementation of marketing plans and campaigns to build and deepen USAA's relationship with existing members, and drive acquisition of new members.
  • Responsible for supporting the marketing budget allocations across products and channels to deliver sustainable growth at efficient Cost per Account (CPAs) at scale.
  • Drive the strategy for the digital acquisition experience, lead adoption of new ways of working, and leverage storytelling to drive understanding & adoption of change.
  • Leads a team to embrace safe & sound business practices at scale.
  • Knowledge of product related regulations, and risk and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to leverage external knowledge regarding the digital space and established a network of external partners to inspire out-of-box thinking.
  • Keep USAA brand and mission to serve the military community at the forefront of new marketing practice.
  • Attract, develop, expand, and retain high performing teams of marketing professionals that deliver outcomes and key results.
  • Cultivate talent through coaching and training.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 8 years of relevant work experience in financial services with hands-on experience in conversion channels.
  • 3 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Product Marketing, including developing marketing plans, performance reporting, and driving incremental growth.
  • Skilled in collaborating with key partners and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ability to analyze data from a variety of resources to support marketing decisions and alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to adjust communication style based on the audiences.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
