UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for ICU Nurse Residency/Transition to Practice. This ICU Residency/Transition to Practice will be with Montlake's four ICU Departments and will commence October 26, 2026. You must have an Active WA RN license, or valid Multistate RN license no later than October 10, 2026 to be eligible . *** Job posting closes on July 23, 2026.***
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 90% FTE
  • Twelve-Hour Shifts
  • Night and variable shifts.
  • Weekend Shifts

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Listed below are the four hiring ICU Departments accepting applications for these opportunities:
Surgical ICU ~ This is a 14 bed unit. Patient population includes direct recovery for ICU surgical cases and liver transplants.
Medical ICU . This is a 24 bed unit. Patient population on this unit includes medical ICU cases and Bone Marrow Transplant.
Cardiothoracic ICU ~ This is a 24 bed unit. Patient population includes cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, vascular, heart and lung transplant, MCS, VV, ECLS, and TAVR.
CCU ICU This is a 21-bed unit. Patient population includes acute heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pre heart transplant patients and post-cardiac cath lab procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
Top candidates for this opportunity have at least two years of registered nursing experience in an acute care environment.
*** If nursing resident, must have ICU Senior Practicum experience, ICU Clinicals, or have worked in an ICU Department in another health care provider role, i.e., PCT, MA, Health Unit Coordinator.
BLS and ACLS within six months of hire. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
