Job description

Overview
Be part of an exciting new venture in promoting independence and opportunities for growth with the people we support. Full time and part time opportunities are available working from 10pm-6am at a remote location supported by Heritage Christian Services.
Under the direction of the Remote Support Manager, the Remote Support Professional (RSP) provides remote support services from a Heritage Christian Services-designated location. This position does not operate from a home-based setting. The RSP delivers services through active monitoring, as-needed (PRN) supports, and emergency response. The RSP monitors individuals to support environmental stability while promoting increased independence and autonomy. All duties are performed in support of the mission, vision, and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.
Pay for this position: $21.40 / hr
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
Responsibilities
  • Monitors people supported and provides support in areas related to health, medication, safety and daily living
  • Empowers people supported to make independent decisions and provide emergency backup as needed
  • Responds to emergency requests from people supported, and as needed, escalates to emergencies by implementing agency emergency calling procedures and potential to provide back-up in-person staffing
  • Notifies and coordinates with emergency services when required
  • Troubleshoots technology issues with remote support systems in the homes
  • Provides ongoing training with technology to people supported to engage them to utilize in-home devices
  • Monitors wearable devices when people supported are away from home and provides assistance and interventions as needed
  • Provides in-service training and consultation to supported people and their care/parents/guardians on technology, including the use of remote support systems
  • Provides remote support to people supported remotely throughout assigned programs on caseload
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Demonstrates reasonable decision making even when dealing with emotional topics
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of services
  • Completes and attends all scheduled and trainings required by Heritage Christian Services. Participates in in-service sessions and other staff training sessions, implementing new procedures.
  • Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of each person's personal information in accordance with HIPAA
  • Prevents, recognizes and reports abuse

Qualifications
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalency
  • Valid driver's license that is following Heritage Christian Services' motor vehicle record standards, and reliable transportation to and from work
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse population. A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of technology systems utilized by the agency is required, including payroll platforms and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate, interpret, and utilize these systems in support of program and operational responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Remote support staff work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the people served. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions and deadlines. Direct support staff need to be flexible, attentive and be able to adjust to changing needs. Depending on the needs of people served, the work can be physically demanding including transferring or supporting people with mobility needs, lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds, walking or standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Hours vary based on assignment; may include variety of shifts and overnight hours
