• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to identify clients' mental health needs, utilizing standardized evaluation tools and clinical interviews.
• Create personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s goals and challenges.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy.
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide integrated care, participating in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and consultations.
• Offer guidance and education to clients’ families, equipping them with strategies to support their loved ones' mental health journey.
• Document all client interactions accurately and maintain confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.

As a Mental Health Counselor within the hospice center, you will work primarily with clients dealing with terminal illness, grief, anxiety, and depression. This role demands sensitivity and compassion, as you help individuals and their families navigate complex emotional landscapes during challenging times. Your ability to engage this unique population will directly contribute to their emotional well-being and overall satisfaction with care.

• A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise through at least 2 years of experience in mental health counseling, especially in hospice or palliative care settings.
• A thorough understanding of evidence-based practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Strong therapeutic skills with the ability to foster rapport, encourage collaboration, and innovate in treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective partnerships both within the team and with clients.

• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from varying cultural, socioeconomic, and demographic backgrounds.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and digital documentation tools commonly used in mental health practice.
• Additional training or certification in specialized therapeutic techniques, such as trauma-informed care or grief counseling.
