Work Schedule

Position may be eligible for hybrid remote work.  This is a temp/part-time position. Hours will fluctuate between 5-20 hours per week based on workload, priorities, and project needs.

About this Position

Reviews coding in Electronic Medical Records system and post the charges. Codes and bills for hospital charges. Captures all billing from all clinics and hospitals. Checks all accounts for any duplicate charges. Uses proper Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers. Attends seminars or webinars to stay current with changes in billing. Must have and maintain Certified Professional Coder certification. 

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 1-2 years of medical billing background with 2 years of college or technical training. In lieu of college or technical training, will accept 3 or more years coding and billing experience in a primary care or specialty facility.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    CPC certification required.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Medical coding, medical billing, typing, computer, and 10-key. Must have organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks.
