Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading civil engineering firm based in California.ย Weย seekย a full-timeย Senior Mechanical Engineerย toย support Cordoba's Transportation Sector.ย In this position, you willย be responsibleย forย designing and supporting theย implementation ofย mechanical systems and components forย public facilities, including transit, aviation, and maintenance facilities. You will be involvedย withย mega design projects, ensuring that designs meet stringent industry standards and regulatory requirements.ย This role will report toย theย Project Managerย and work collaboratively withย otherย Cordobaย teamย members.ย ย 

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and report on existing building mechanical equipment and systemsย 

  • Design of HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, plumbing systems, and building automation systemsย 

  • Conduct technical analyses, simulations, and testing toย validateย designs and ensure they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.ย 

  • Ensure all mechanical designsย comply withย industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.ย 

  • Identifyย and resolve engineering challenges, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.ย 

  • Stay informed about relevant codes and standards for light-rail design and ensure their application in all projects.ย 

  • Support design staff with all engineering drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.ย 

  • Oversee and manage mechanical engineering tasksย from conceptย through toย implementation.ย 

  • Coordinate with project managers, electrical engineers, civil engineers, and otherย disciplinesย to ensure cohesive project delivery.ย 

  • Implement quality control processes to ensureย high standardsย in mechanical design and manufacturing.ย 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other aspects ofย the project'sย design and construction.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.ย 

  • Collaborate effectively: Coordinate with team members and other design disciplines to ensure cohesive and integrated project outcomes.ย ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineeringย orย a relatedย field.ย 

  • California Professional Engineering (PE) License, or ability to obtain within one year afterย hire.ย 

  • Extensiveย experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the rail or transportation industry.ย 

  • Proficiencyย in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or similar.ย 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.ย 

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.ย 

  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements forย mechanical engineering design work on HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems.ย 

  • Provenย track recordย of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects.ย 

  • Project management experience is a plus.ย 

  • Positive attitude and ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independentlyย

Salary Range: $175,000 - $230,000 per year
