We are currently hiring on behalf of a rapidly growing transportation and logistics company seeking an experienced Freight Broker to join their team in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Broker who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment and has an active book of business. This role is ideal for a driven logistics professional with experience managing freight in a cradle-to-grave environment while developing strong customer and carrier relationships.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, results-oriented, and capable of managing both shipper accounts and carrier partnerships while maximizing profitability and service performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow an active book of business through relationship management and account expansion
  • Prospect and onboard new shipper accounts to drive revenue growth
  • Manage truckload shipments from pickup to delivery in a cradle-to-grave brokerage environment
  • Negotiate freight rates with shippers and carriers to maximize margins
  • Build and maintain reliable carrier relationships to secure capacity
  • Resolve shipment issues proactively while delivering high-level customer service
  • Drive revenue growth through both new and existing customer accounts
  • Maintain accurate reporting and customer data within CRM and TMS platforms
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth freight execution
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum 3+ years of freight brokerage experience
  • Mandatory active book of business
  • Experience working in a cradle-to-grave brokerage environment
  • Strong understanding of truckload market trends, pricing, and carrier management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using TMS platforms, load boards, and CRM systems
