Highly Protected Risk Field Engineer
Department: Professional & Consulting Services
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: California
Compensation: $100,000 - $160,000 / year
Description
We focus on delivering efficient risk management solutions directly to clients, specializing in property risk surveys for large commercial properties. Our technology-driven approach to field data collection and report writing sets us apart from traditional risk assessment methods. We prioritize a client-centric business model and foster a culture where work-life balance is essential. Join our team of 20 talented professionals, and be part of a growing company with a commitment to innovation and client satisfaction.
We are looking for motivated Property Risk Engineers with 2-5 years of experience in property risk management. In this role, you will conduct field inspections and surveys for highly protected risk (HPR) properties, assessing fire protection systems, loss expectancy, and other risk factors. Our technology simplifies report writing, allowing you to focus more on analysis and risk reduction strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site property risk inspections and surveys for commercial clients.
  • Evaluate and report on fire protection systems, loss expectancy, and general property conditions.
  • Use our proprietary technology to efficiently gather data and complete risk surveys.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to help them understand risks and manage their insurance premiums effectively.
  • Provide expert recommendations for improving property risk profiles and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work independently, managing your own schedule, while contributing to a remote team environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and standards in risk management and property engineering.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 2-5 years of experience in property risk management, specifically in highly protected risk (HPR) surveys or similar roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in fire protection systems and risk mitigation strategies is highly preferred.
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide actionable recommendations for risk reduction.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site inspections, as needed.

Benefits
  • Salary range: $120,000 - $140,000+ per year for candidates with 2-5 years of experience. Highly experienced candidates can earn up to $180,000+.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a 6% match, and unlimited PTO.
  • Flexible, remote work environment allowing for a work-life balance that prioritizes family and personal life.
  • Opportunity for career growth, with potential paths into management as the company expands.
  • Why Join Us:
  • Work for a company that values people first, with a culture that supports work-life balance and career development.
  • Be part of a small, nimble team that offers unlimited career growth potential and less red tape than larger firms.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technology to deliver efficient and effective risk management solutions to clients.
  • Gain valuable experience working directly with commercial clients in a variety of industries.
