Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in scenario design, structured writing, digital workflow simulation, task creation, quality review, and complex real-world problem design.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on designing realistic digital environments, creating complex agent-facing tasks, developing structured personas, reviewing task performance, and documenting high-quality scenario work. Selected professionals will apply their writing, analytical, and creative judgment to build realistic workplace-style scenarios that test reasoning, prioritization, information filtering, and multi-step task execution.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Persona & Digital Environment Design

  • Build richly detailed personas, workplace contexts, communication histories, and simulated digital environments
  • Create realistic digital workspaces involving tools such as Gmail, Slack, Calendar, WhatsApp, Google Drive, Airtable, and related productivity systems
  • Develop layered scenarios involving competing priorities, scheduling conflicts, incomplete information, stakeholder needs, and realistic professional constraints
  • Ensure simulated environments are coherent, internally consistent, and realistic enough to support meaningful task evaluation

Scenario Writing & Agent Task Development

  • Write challenging tasks that require reasoning, prioritization, information retrieval, judgment, and careful execution
  • Design tasks that test how well an agent navigates complex digital workflows across files, messages, calendars, and structured data
  • Create structured hints, evaluation notes, expected outcomes, and supporting documentation
  • Identify inconsistencies, unclear instructions, missing context, and opportunities to improve scenario quality

Testing, Evaluation & Documentation

  • Run agent workflows against created scenarios and evaluate task performance
  • Provide structured guidance, feedback, and quality notes based on observed performance
  • Document work clearly in structured tools such as Airtable, Crucible, JSON editors, or similar platforms
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and strong judgment across submitted work

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, content strategy, product work, project coordination, consulting, client success, operations support, curriculum design, UX research, simulation design, or related roles
  • Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to create layered, realistic scenarios with clear logic and believable professional context
  • Comfort working independently with structured tools, task guidelines, and documentation systems
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies, edge cases, missing context, and information-quality issues
  • Strong creative thinking paired with disciplined execution

Educational Background

  • An undergraduate degree is helpful
  • Backgrounds in writing, communications, journalism, English, design, education, business, psychology, computer science, data analysis, project management, or related fields may be relevant
  • Equivalent practical experience in scenario writing, content design, editing, project coordination, task design, simulation work, or structured review is also highly relevant

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a copywriter, UX writer, journalist, content strategist, editor, creative writer, curriculum designer, simulation designer, game designer, UX researcher, consultant, project manager, account manager, client success professional, event coordinator, or producer
  • Familiarity with JSON, Airtable, Crucible, Jira, Asana, AI platforms, structured data tools, SQL, Python, or technical documentation workflows
  • Experience building realistic professional scenarios, multi-stakeholder workflows, training materials, simulations, task specs, or complex written environments
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to understand how professional workflows unfold across messages, files, calendars, and competing priorities
  • Comfort working through detailed, creative, and logic-heavy tasks with sustained focus

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply creative writing, systems thinking, and structured scenario design skills to remote project work
  • Contribute to high-quality digital simulations, complex task design, and agent workflow evaluation
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with your writing, coordination, product, or analytical background
  • Use your judgment in a focused, creative, detail-oriented review environment
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Part-time or extended availability depending on project needs
  • Competitive rates between $70โ€“$130 per hour depending on expertise
