Job description

Adoption Coordinator (Full-Time | Remote | $48,000)

Join Lutheran Services Carolinas and help children find safe, loving, and permanent families through adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct adoption home studies (Pre-Placement Assessments) and foster care licensing activities.
  • Match approved adoptive families with children in foster care based on each child's unique needs.
  • Provide ongoing case management, support, education, and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
  • Complete home visits, post-placement supervision, and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with agency, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with county DSS offices, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Support adoption finalization and permanency planning efforts for children and families.
  • Participate in recruitment, outreach, and family engagement activities.
 Qualifications:
  • Experience in social work, child welfare, foster care, adoption services, or case management preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound professional judgment.
