The pay range is $135,000.00 - $243,000.00

Within the Target Loyalty team, the Director of Loyalty Design & Economics will lead the architecture and economic foundation of Target's loyalty program. This leader is responsible for designing the core program structure-including discount strategy, accumulated value, tiers, benefits, and overall value proposition-and ensuring it delivers differentiated guest value while driving sustainable, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design of Target's loyalty program structure, including accumulated value systems, tier frameworks, benefit constructs, and overall value proposition

  • Ensure the program is simple, intuitive, and compelling for guests while differentiated in the competitive landscape

  • Lead the development and management of the loyalty economic model, including cost of benefits, accumulated value liability, redemption dynamics, and breakage

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (e.g., incremental revenue, ROI, customer lifetime value, engagement, and retention)

  • Partner with Finance to ensure the program delivers sustainable financial performance and aligns with enterprise goals

  • Design a portfolio of benefits that balances high perceived value with cost efficiency, including monetary, experiential, and recognition-based rewards

  • Champion a guest-first mindset in all program design decisions

  • Translate complex economic concepts into clear, actionable strategies for senior leadership

About You

  • 10-12+ years of experience in loyalty, pricing, promotions, strategy, consulting, or related fields

  • Proven experience designing or optimizing loyalty programs, rewards systems, or customer value propositions

  • Strong financial acumen with experience building business cases, economic models, and ROI frameworks

  • Deep understanding of customer behavior, incentives, and engagement drivers

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing industries

  • Familiarity with loyalty platforms, CRM systems, and personalization strategies

  • Background in analytics, economics, or behavioral science

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member worksfull-time from home oran alternatelocation that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
