Remote Position | Work From Home

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled VMware Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in a fully remote position. In this role, you will support and maintain enterprise-level VMware environments while troubleshooting complex issues across virtualization, storage, networking, and system performance.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on technical professional who can work independently, quickly assess an existing infrastructure environment, identify key components, resolve production issues, and provide escalation-level support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments in large-scale production settings.
  • Administer VMware clusters, including High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), resource allocation, and virtual machine lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues involving virtualization, storage, networking, and system performance.
  • Support and maintain SAN/NAS storage environments.
  • Assist with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VMware networking, including vSwitches, distributed switches, and VLANs.
  • Respond to and resolve production incidents and provide escalation-level technical support.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and capacity monitoring.
  • Assess existing VMware environments and document key infrastructure components, configurations, and dependencies.
  • Help ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of critical infrastructure systems.
  • Support cloud, hosting, or multi-tenant environments as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Experience managing VMware clusters in enterprise or large-scale production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HA, DRS, resource allocation, and virtual machine lifecycle management.
  • Experience troubleshooting virtualization, storage, networking, and performance-related issues.
  • Experience with SAN/NAS storage and enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of VMware networking, including vSwitches, distributed switches, and VLANs.
  • Experience supporting production incidents, system maintenance, patching, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ability to independently assess an existing technical environment and identify key infrastructure components.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting cloud, hosting, or multi-tenant environments is strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication with the technical team.
