Job Title: Low Latency Network Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
Rate: $$70-75/hr on W2
Overview:
As a Low Latency Network Engineer, you will deliver solutions across the company's datacenters and global colocation footprint. Your scope covers all aspects of collocation sites including site access, equipment procurement, logistics, capacity management (power, space, servers, network ports), performance management, service availability, connectivity, compute, and market data delivery.
You will architect, engineer, and deploy ultra low latency network infrastructure, oversee installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, optimization, and documentation of all network hardware, security hardware, software, and connectivity. You will also participate in and manage multiple projects, ensuring the network is configured and optimized for ultra-low/low latency to support intraday trading and direct market access systems, enabling exchange, broker, and managed service provider connectivity for market data delivery and order execution.
Requirements:
• 20+ years of total industry experience
• Strong knowledge of Electronic and Algo Trading Platforms, Feed Handlers, Order Routers, Smart Order Routers, FIX protocols
• Experience with exchange binary FIX protocols such as OUCH and ITCH
• Strong network engineering and project delivery experience
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols
• Experience with Unicast: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE
• Experience with Switching: STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN, Spine and Leaf architectures
• In-depth experience with Cisco Nexus switching and routing hardware/software
• Knowledge of network monitoring, PCAP decoding tools (Corvil, SFlow), and timestamping (PTP) preferred
• Knowledge of Algorithmic/DMA/HFT trading platforms and the trade lifecycle
• Solid understanding of market venues, exchange protocols (binary, FIX, ITCH, OUCH, Pillar, etc.) across multiple asset classes
• Strong scripting and automation experience (Python preferred)
• Excellent communication skills; ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
• Certifications are optional; real-world experience is valued more
