Senior Security & Infrastructure Engineer (Remote + Occasional Travel Across Florida)

An established Cisco VAR is seeking a hands-on Senior Security & Infrastructure Engineer to join its growing technical team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working directly with clients to architect, implement, and support secure enterprise and data center environments.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise across network security, enterprise networking, and modern data center technologies, with the ability to own projects from design through deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy enterprise networking and cybersecurity solutions for a diverse client base.

  • Lead technical implementations involving campus networks, data centers, and security architectures.

  • Serve as a technical advisor to customers throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering through production handoff.

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing, switching, wireless, and security platforms.

  • Develop technical documentation, implementation procedures, and deployment standards.

  • Participate in infrastructure assessments and recommend improvements to network performance and security posture.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex customer environments.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers and technical teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and cybersecurity.

  • Strong background with Cisco enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, and wireless.

  • Experience implementing and supporting Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).

  • Hands-on experience with next-generation firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, or Fortinet.

  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise network security architectures.

  • Knowledge of network segmentation, authentication, and access control methodologies.

  • Familiarity with malware protection and advanced threat prevention technologies.

  • Experience supporting virtualized server environments and enterprise infrastructure.

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or equivalent.

  • NGFW certification preferred

  • Experience with Juniper networking or security technologies.

  • Familiarity with data center networking, software-defined networking, or overlay technologies.

  • Prior experience in consulting, professional services, or customer-facing engineering roles.
