Job description

A growing organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Associate to support daily AR operations across multiple internal and external systems. The AR Associate is responsible for applying payments, researching and resolving discrepancies, processing refunds, and ensuring billing accuracy and financial record integrity. (6+months/year) Responsibilities Accurately process incoming payments, including lockbox, ACH/wire transfers, remote deposits, and other payment types Research and resolve unapplied cash items and account discrepancies using AR reports and accounting systems Complete ad-hoc bank entries and other cash-related transactions Process refunds and voids while ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation across systems Investigate billing discrepancies and maintain strong reconciliation accuracy Support account setup updates, billing changes, and customer account transitions Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing records and timely issue resolution Manage AR cases within workflow or CRM tools, ensuring proper documentation and follow-through Communicate with customers and internal partners to resolve billing, payment, and account-related inquiries Assist with reporting initiatives, special projects, and periodic financial reviews Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and operational efficiencies Participate in audits, system updates, and testing initiatives as needed Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 1–2 years of Accounts Receivable or general accounting experience (industry experience required) Strong understanding of payment applications, cash posting, refunds, and reconciliation processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook; experience with enterprise accounting systems or CRM platforms preferred Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and data accuracy skills Ability to analyze complex AR transactions and clearly explain the full lifecycle of a transaction Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
