Job Description

RESPEC is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager for our Tampa, Florida office.

The Water Resources Project Manager will be involved with the management and technical execution of all types of planning, design, and specialty services related to public and private water resources, watershed, and stormwater projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage water resources projects and provide technical leadership from planning through project closeout
  • Develop business and relationships with clients
  • Prepare project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Identify staff to work on projects
  • Lead project teams and ensure the quality of deliverables, schedules are met, and the financial success of projects
  • Assist in hiring water resources staff to work in the Tampa office
  • Coordinate with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Mentor junior staff and help them advance their careers
  • Support business development efforts and proposal preparation
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of science degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Experience with municipal and private clients in Florida
  • 12-20 years of technical experience
  • Professional engineer license in Florida or ability to obtain license within 6 months of start date
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Project experience including successful delivery of civil engineering planning studies, designs, and construction documents

Preferred:

  • Experience in providing engineering services and project management in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties
  • Familiarity with development and design processes that are specific to Tampa Bay Area Counties
  • Regulatory/permitting submittals and processing
  • Technical writing
  • Client interface and communications
  • Practical application of various hydrology/hydraulics software (e.g. BMP Trains, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF, SWMM, StormWise, etc.)
  • Experience in developing and guiding construction plan package preparation
