Job description

Company Profile
Headway Environmental is a national environmental consulting firm helping clients navigate complex environmental regulations while advancing infrastructure, energy, water, mining, transportation, and land development projects across the United States.
Our multidisciplinary team provides environmental permitting, biological resources, wetlands, NEPA compliance, ecological restoration, mitigation and conservation bank permitting, water resources, and environmental planning services that help clients reduce project risk, maintain schedules, and achieve regulatory compliance.
Our clients rely on us because environmental challenges are often among the most critical factors affecting project success. Whether supporting renewable energy development, transportation improvements, public infrastructure, or private development, we work collaboratively to deliver practical, science-based solutions that balance environmental stewardship with successful project delivery.
Job Description
Headway Environmental is seeking an experienced nationwide Account Executive (AE) to expand our national client base and drive strategic growth across multiple market sectors. The successful candidate will report to the President of Headway Environmental.
This role is focused on creating opportunities, not simply responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Successful candidates proactively identify prospective clients, develop relationships with key decision-makers, and engage Headway's technical experts early in the discussion to position the firm before procurement even begins. Once opportunities are qualified, the AE partners with Headway's technical and operations teams to develop the technical approach, pricing, proposals, and ultimately deliver the work. The AE tracks the opportunity within Headway’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring pipeline information is up to date. This will include continued coordination between the client and Headway’s technical team through the close of the deal.
Success in this role requires curiosity, initiative, and the ability to build trust with prospective clients. You'll work alongside Headway's scientists, engineers, and permitting specialists to connect clients with the right expertise at the right time, creating opportunities that become long-term partnerships.
Hire Type: Full-time (salary plus commission)
Schedule: 40 hours, Monday–Friday
Location: Remote – work from home within the Central and Southwest region

  • Facilitate a seamless transition of qualified opportunities to Headway's technical and operations teams for scope development, pricing, proposal preparation, and project delivery.
