Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Business Development Manager - Mining & Metals to work from a remote location, preferably the Southwestern USA (preferably Utah, Arizona, Colorado, etc.). The Business Development Manager - Mining & Metals will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.
This role is a front-end commercial position, responsible for lead generation, opportunity qualification, and earlystage deal development within the mining segment. The successful candidate will work closely with Commercial Excellence, Technical Sales, and Proposal teams to convert identified needs into qualified, valuedriven opportunities aligned with Aquatech’s advanced process water, tailings water, and wastewater solutions.
Success in this role is strongly tied to the ability to open doors, build credibility with mining stakeholders, and progress opportunities through disciplined commercial processes.
Jon Description:
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Proactively identify, generate, and develop new leads within the mining industry vertical
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of early-stage and qualified commercial opportunities
- Identify and target mining operations, EPCs, OEMs, and other stakeholders where Aquatech’s water treatment technologies deliver measurable value.e
- Actively engage plant managers, metallurgists, water engineers, project managers, and procurement teams.
Opportunity Qualification & Commercial Excellence
- Convert leads into qualified opportunities using the defined Commercial Excellence framework.s
- Develop clear opportunity strategies, including customer needs analysis, value propositions, and win plans.
- Ensure disciplined CRM usage and accurate opportunity tracking
- Participate in Gate Reviews and internal opportunity reviews as required
Market & Customer Knowledge
- Maintain a deep understanding of mining water challenges, including:
- Process water treatment
- Water reuse and recycling
- Tailings and mine-influenced water
- Zero / minimal liquid discharge concepts
- Track market trends, capital project activity, and regulatory drivers impacting water use in mining
- Maintain key account relationships and generate a commercial ecosystem with key influencers, suppliers, contractors, and partners.
- Provide structured market feedback to regional leadership and product teams (customers’ needs and preferences, competitors' positioning, etc.)
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
- Work closely with Process Development, Project Developers, and other teams
- Support the development of early technical-commercial solutions tailored to customer needs
- Engage with the Business Intelligence and Marketing teams for prospect targeting and marketing material preparation
- Represent Aquatech at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
Skill Requirements:
- Ability to meet revenue goals and effectively manage and grow the business territory
