This role is centered around a remote work environment, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with clients. Our telehealth facility ensures that you have the necessary resources and support to provide high-quality counseling from the comfort of your home or any chosen location. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, fostering a balanced work-life experience.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to determine their unique needs and treatment goals.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, skillfully addressing common emotional challenges such as depression, anxiety, and grief related to aging.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to develop and implement individualized care plans that enhance the overall well-being of geriatric patients.
• Design and execute educational workshops for family members and staff that cover best practices for supporting seniors’ emotional health.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling for both residents and their families facing situations of terminal illness and bereavement.
• Utilize evidence-based cognitive stimulation programs and therapeutic interventions to invigorate mental acuity among elderly clients.

Your primary focus as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be on elderly individuals who are often navigating significant life transitions, health challenges, and emotional stressors. By engaging with clients in a remote setting, you will create an environment that encourages open and honest discussions, fostering trust and a strong therapeutic alliance.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid and unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing mental health support in geriatric settings.
• A solid understanding of mental health issues uniquely affecting the elderly population.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to forge meaningful connections with clients, caregivers, and health professionals.
• Commitment to cultural competence in serving diverse elderly populations.
• Knowledge of best practices, ethical guidelines, and applicable legal standards in mental health counseling.

• Prior experience conducting individual or group counseling specifically tailored to senior clients.
• Completion of additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Experience using telehealth platforms to provide mental health counseling.
• Ability to develop personalized treatment strategies based on patient-centered approaches.
