Remote Museum Programming information

What is remote museum programming?

Remote museum programming refers to the development and delivery of museum experiences, educational content, and events that are accessible online rather than in person. These programs can include virtual tours, online workshops, live-streamed lectures, and interactive digital exhibits. The goal is to engage audiences who cannot visit the museum physically, making art, history, and culture more accessible to people worldwide. Remote museum programming often uses various digital platforms and tools to create interactive and inclusive experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Remote Museum Programming, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Museum Programming, you need a background in museum studies, education, or related fields, along with experience in designing and delivering virtual educational content. Familiarity with digital platforms such as Zoom, content management systems, and basic video editing tools is typically required. Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills help engage diverse audiences and coordinate virtual events effectively. These skills and qualities are crucial for developing accessible, interactive programs that extend the museum's reach and impact online.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote museum programming, and how can these be addressed?

Professionals in remote museum programming often face the challenge of engaging diverse audiences without the benefit of in-person interaction. Building interactive, accessible virtual experiences and maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and external collaborators are crucial. To address these challenges, it's important to leverage a variety of digital tools, regularly seek audience feedback, and participate in cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment. Staying up-to-date with technology and best practices in virtual engagement can also enhance program quality and reach.

Job description

First things first: do you enjoy building scalable backend systems and helping engineers around you grow into stronger versions of themselves? If the answer is yes, you might be a great fit for Seez.
Seez is an AI-powered automotive technology company transforming how vehicles are bought and sold. Since 2016, we've been building scalable SaaS and digital retail solutions that help dealerships, OEMs, and marketplaces deliver smarter, more seamless car buying experiences.
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong backend engineering fundamentals with modern machine learning expertise. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and AI, helping us build intelligent, production-ready applications that power the next generation of automotive retail. If you enjoy building scalable software, experimenting with the latest AI technologies and solving real customer problems, we'd love to hear from you.
Passion, ownership, and strong technical judgment are essential for success in this role.
Requirements
Technical
  • Design, build and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Node and .NET.
  • Develop production-ready AI applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Build and optimise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and vector search solutions.
  • Integrate foundation models such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini into customer-facing products.
  • Design, build and maintain REST APIs that power our AI services.
  • Work with structured and unstructured data to improve AI performance and user experience.
  • Optimise applications for performance, scalability and reliability.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering to deliver features from concept through production.
  • Monitor, evaluate and continuously improve AI system performance.

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU'RE SOMEONE (GREAT-TO-HAVE)

  • Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate or Qdrant.
  • Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM evaluation techniques.
  • Experience deploying AI applications into production environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE PARTY (MUST HAVES)
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Strong commercial experience building backend applications with Python and Node.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning or LLM-powered applications.
  • Experience building REST APIs, GraphQL, and backend services.
  • Experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
  • Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to shipping software.
