Dynamic, accredited live online program is seeking part-time teaching assistants for our growing live online program (Aug-May). Applicants must have Microsoft Office suite experience, reliable laptop or desktop, and stable internet service.
This position is ideal for those with a passion for quality home education and who can commit a few hours per week to this rewarding remote employment opportunity. Now accepting applicants for the 25-26 academic year (time commitment 4-8 hours per week) and the upcoming 26-27 academic year (time commitment 4-12 hours per week). General Role Description
The Live Online Class Teaching Assistant delivers instructional support related to Live Online courses and promotes Live Online program growth and quality aligned to Bridgeway Academy's philosophy of learning. The Live Online Teaching Assistant works collaboratively with company staff to ensure outstanding service and support for the enrolled students.
Primary Responsibilities:
Online classroom management including some or all the following (at the discretion of the teacher)
  • Prior to the start of class, support the Lead Teacher's upload of PowerPoint with learning objectives and any corresponding materials for the live lesson
  • Take Attendance
  • Set due dates and deadlines for assignments
  • Document changes for NCAA courses
  • Complete the Exit Slip recording form
  • Support the Lead Teacher with grading
  • Provide class coverage when the Lead Teacher is absent
  • Provide student support during class time as needed
  • At request of the teacher send correspondence to student and/or homeschool instructor as needed related to lack of participation / absence from class or lack of assignment completion
  • Obtain feedback from all Live Online class participants via surveys, email, and telephone communications
  • Facilitate complaint resolutions
  • Ensure timely, effective communication with families, charter partners, homeschool teachers, and other stakeholders under Team Lead and Learning Ops supervision
  • Respond promptly to support tickets, and inquiries from parents, advisors, sales team, and instructors

Course Delivery
  • Record Live Online sessions (check that it has been done)
  • Assist with utilizing online tools to the fullest potential
  • Conduct appropriate student management during Live Online class sessions
  • Assist with Live Online class lesson delivery, incorporating Bridgeway Academy standards and best practices in online instruction and learning.
  • Supervise breakout rooms and answer questions in chat

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma minimum; some college preferred
  • Experience and skill working with Zoom similar online meeting platform
  • Competency with some or all Microsoft Suite products: PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Ability to effectively utilize Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle experience) and learn LOC's Edovate LMS
  • Experience using tech learning tools preferred such as Classkick, Nearpod, Kahoot!, Blooket, Gimkit, Quizziz, Padlet (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask on either split screens or dual monitors
  • Strong independent work habits & problem-solving skills
