Work EnvironmentThis position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to effectively engage with students and families through virtual meetings. While primarily remote, occasional on-site activities in an outpatient office might be required for team meetings or special events. Your work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening shifts and rotating weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students with varying special needs to develop a comprehensive understanding of their challenges and strengths.
- Formulate and execute individualized treatment plans that target emotional well-being and promote integration into the school environment.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions for ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to cultivate coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including educators and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
- Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, maintaining a calm and supportive presence.
- Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
- Maintain compliance with legal and ethical documentation standards to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and staff development initiatives to foster a cohesive working environment.
- Stay informed about the latest laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the mental health field.
Your role will primarily involve working with students who have a range of special needs, including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, emotional and behavioral disorders, ADHD, and learning disabilities. The focus is on providing mental health support to ensure these students can thrive academically and socially. You will engage with families to help them understand the mental health challenges their children face and guide them in accessing necessary resources.
Qualifications- A Master's degree in Social Work from a recognized institution is required.
- Possession of a current and valid LCSW license in Colorado is essential.
- A strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders and trauma-informed care practices.
- Exceptional skills in conducting mental health assessments and formulating actionable treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
- Effective hands-on experience in delivering both group and individual therapy sessions.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills that facilitate collaboration and rapport-building within a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound judgment and adherence to professional ethics and boundaries.
