Vice President, Instructional Design & Learning & Development

Pharmaceutical Agency | Central New Jersey | Remote

Our client, a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical agency, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Instructional Design & Learning & Development to lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of innovative learning solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned instructional design leader who thrives in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment and is passionate about leveraging digital technology, emerging tools, and AI to transform learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Instructional Design and Learning & Development function.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of instructional designers, graphic designers, and learning technologists.
  • Establish team goals, performance expectations, training initiatives, and professional development plans.
  • Oversee the strategy, design, and development of e-learning modules, videos, interactive content, training materials, and other digital learning solutions.
  • Ensure all learning content aligns with established brand guidelines, quality standards, and client objectives.
  • Partner closely with IT and other internal teams to identify and implement new technologies and innovative learning platforms.
  • Drive the exploration and integration of Digital/AI technologies to enhance learning experiences and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business needs, develop solutions, and build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Provide creative direction for graphics, multimedia, and interactive learning content.
  • Manage department budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design, learning & development, digital education, and AI.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events, with some travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive Instructional Design/Learning & Development experience within the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • 3–5+ years of management or supervisory experience is required.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary creative and/or learning teams.
  • Strong knowledge of e-learning development, digital learning technologies, multimedia, and interactive content.
  • Experience incorporating emerging technologies and AI into learning and development strategies is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, budgeting, and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation abilities.
