A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for driving alignment to strategy at the department level and assisting with ongoing process improvement initiatives utilizing the principles and methodology of Lean.
Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Business or other related field. Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 2 years Experience in management or process improvement / Lean / Six Sigma (experience can be combined to meet qualification). Required


Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Visio. (Preferred proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate required (or must be obtained within one year of hire).


What you will do

  • Conduct operational assessments. Review, analyze and deliver solutions and recommendations to improve clinical and business processes with alignment to SVH strategy.
  • Execute, support and project manage Value Stream improvements as workplans generated and approved.
  • Utilizing the Lean methodology, facilitate cross-department level improvements and coaching.
  • Identifies and utilizes appropriate data sources (ie. Vizient) related to job activity sampling; assists in determining productivity work standards through time studies and other methodologies.
  • Performs analysis on obtained research data to determine possible solutions to operating problems, feasibility estimates, and staffing requirements.
  • Provide Leader and front-line coaching, supporting the implementation of Lean Management Systems
  • Assists with the design, analysis, measurement, and implementation of changes.
  • Identifies areas where technology can be leveraged to improve efficiencies (ie. SVConnectOne).
  • Assist with establishing and facilitating cross-organizational project teams to drive implementation of transformational improvements to positively impact and achieve sustainable results in the areas of quality, service delivery, productivity, revenue, costs, patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishes and assists in preparing narrative reports documenting data collection and analysis methods, study subjects and recommendations.
  • Communicates, collaborates, and serves as consultant/coach to operators, management, leadership, and outside professionals regarding all of SVH's Lean projects.
  • Facilitates and/or leads improvement team efforts and motivates teams to achieve the desired outcomes. Coordinates and facilitates multidisciplinary teams/committees. Monitors outcomes related to real or potential events. Takes initiative to follow through on inquires, problem or requests.
  • Trains/educates individuals in the organization on Lean process improvement methods and the Plan/Do/Check/Act problem-solving approach.


Travel Requirements

  • 20% In-state travel required. Must be able to travel to various work locations within the SVH network.
