The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Electrochemical Engine Center (ECEC) in the field of researching the safety of lithium-ion batteries. This position is under the direction of Dr. Chao-Yang Wang.
Job Duties:
Researching the safety of lithium-ion batteries
We are looking for talented, ambitious, and hard-working candidates, especially those with experience in electrochemistry, reaction kinetics, and flame compositionmeasurements
The ECEC, directed by Prof. Chao-Yang Wang, is a multi-disciplinaryresearch program concentrating on advanced batteries and fuel cells for vehicle electrification, renewable energy storage, and power grids
Qualifications and Requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fieldsby the start date
Strong prior experience in lithium battery research
Strong skills in electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work independently to solve critical problems
