Job description

TITLE: Powerscale Network Attached Storage (NAS) Engineer
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL (up to 4 days onsite)
ANTICIPATED DURATION: Contract to Hire (Base pay, bonus with avg payout 150%+++, pension, 401K match, PTO, medical benefits, etc/!!
Rate: $50-60/hr W2 only – no C2C
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Attached Storage (NAS) Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role is responsible for designing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise file storage solutions, with a strong focus on Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon) and Microsoft-based environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a strong operational mindset, and experience supporting mission-critical storage platforms in complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise NAS solutions with hands-on experience in Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon).
  • Provide direct support for specific applications with dedicated NAS infrastructure.
  • Administer and optimize PowerScale architecture, including node layout, quotas, snapshots, and services.
  • Manage data replication and disaster recovery, including SyncIQ operations and DR failover.
  • Support SMB and NFS protocols across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Administer Active Directory-integrated file services.
  • Manage NTFS, share permissions, ACLs, GPOs, and group-based access.
  • Support DFS and DNS related to file access and application dependencies.
  • Execute file migrations using tools such as Robocopy.
  • Resolve complex Linux-to-Windows permission mappings (e.g., Documentum).
  • Fulfill compliance and legal access requests.
  • Use PowerShell and command-line tools for automation and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting enterprise NAS platforms, preferably Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft server technologies and file services.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and access control models.
  • Proficiency with SMB and NFS protocols.
  • Experience using PowerShell and command-line tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills.


The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $60.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
