Summary:


This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in the IT industry. Candidates must have a very strong background in implementing EMC's Networker, Avamar & DDBOOST and Tivoli Storage Manager and related distributed server technologies including Linux RedHat Platform. They must possess detailed working knowledge as deployed in a mission-critical, multi-site enterprise environment.

Primary Responsibilities (Role):


Implement EMC Data Protection Suite

Develop, enhance and maintain Data Protection engineering standards for multi-site national organization

Diagnose TSM and Networker platform issues (framework and client side) and provide third-level support in complex, business critical environment including physical and virtual infrastructure

Produce basic project plans, root cause analysis documents, change/risk assessments, and product management documentation. Report on progress to management.

Develop technical partnership with engineering, architecture and operations teams.

Requirements:


Work experience (Required):

4+ years hands on experience with EMC Networker, Avamar & DDBOOST, TSM product suite (version 5.5 and 6.2 required). ย 

4+ years of experience with Linux Redhat design, trouble shooting, optimization, and capacity planning ย 

4+ years of functional Engineering group experience, preferably in the financial services sectorย 


Working knowledge (Nice to Have):

Scripting skillsย 

SAN/NAS (preferably Hitachi and NetApp) ย 

Backup appliance (preferably EMC DataDomain) ย 

Systems management technologies (e.g. Tivoli Framework/related products, IBM Director) ย 

LAN/WAN technologies and network protocols (e.g. routers, switches, TCP/IP) ย 

Database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL) ย 

Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems is a plus ย 

Chassis/blade technology ย 

Server virtualizationย 


General skills (Required):

Excellent conceptual and analytical skills ย 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills ย 

Able to produce detailed technical documentation and architecture diagrams ย 

Adherence to corporate standards/problem and change management policies ย 

A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required (professional certifications a plus)
