Position Overview

Join our compassionate team at Journey Recovery Psychotherapy Services as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In this full-time remote role, you will leverage your clinical expertise to provide high-quality mental health care to our diverse clientele. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at improving clients' overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, documenting case history to inform treatment strategies.
  • Developing tailored intervention plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, fostering an environment of trust and healing.
  • Facilitating therapeutic sessions, both individually and within group settings, employing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques aligned with each clientโ€™s treatment goals.
  • Monitoring client progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers to create integrated intervention strategies that support our clients' overall health.
  • Providing guidance and education to clients' family members and caregivers on managing mental health challenges effectively.
  • Identifying barriers to recovery and proactively implementing strategies to help clients overcome these challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse array of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, each facing various mental health challenges. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction-related issues. Utilizing a strengths-based approach, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of those you serve.

Qualifications
  • A valid Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • Evidence of passage of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Diverse knowledge and practical understanding of psychotherapy practices and mental health regulations.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record software, such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate and streamlined documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • A proven track record in mental health counseling with a robust understanding of addiction disorders and co-occurring conditions.
  • Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Strong background in managing and treating clients with complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding in client interactions.
Compensation and Benefits
