Job Description
Summary:
The Unconventional (TU) is seeking exceptionally qualified CAT II MSA Interpreters to provide support with foreign language interpretation, transcription, reporting, and translation services.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Shall provide oral interpretation and perform basic to strategic military tactical and administrative clerical work such as drafting correspondence, coordinating meetings, and research as required. Specialized Translator/interpreters will be expected to translate discussions between U.S. and provided/identified partner nations.
  • Shall analyze source conversations necessary to accurately document conversations and activities.
  • Will be expected to follow units during CONUS and OCONUS travel and must be able to conduct field operations.
  • Shall provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services as required by the supported elements.
  • Shall be at the specified sites depending on mission requirements.
  • Function as an integral member of a team.
  • Perform such other duties as are customarily performed by other persons in similar such positions, as well as such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the employer.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have experience and skill in MSA and English translating/interpreting, transcribing and documenting conversation.
  • Professional working proficiency in MSA and English, at a 3/3/3/3 level for listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Must have an industry recognized certification that proves you possess the language proficiency in order to satisfactorily support the resulting contract.
  • Must have experience providing consecutive interpretation services between English and MSA native speakers.
  • Must possess skills to quickly and effectively translate between MSA /English & English/ MSA in a large group setting while discussing one or more topics.
  • Shall have the familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs.
  • Shall have the ability to function as an integral member of a team of professionals.
  • Able to work for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day up to twelve (12) hours a day, five (5) days per week up to seven (7) days per week, and may work on official holidays.
  • Must possess a valid passport or be able to acquire a passport.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior military experience.
  • Previous experience in the CENTCOM region supporting U.S. and/or partner nation activities.

Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET Security Clearance.
Location: Designated CONUS and OCONUS locations
