Job description

About RR Digital
RR Digital is a dynamic digital marketing agency specializing in comprehensive solutions for law firms. We're a team of creative, strategic professionals committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients. Our content team produces highly individualized, research-intensive legal and medical content that educates while building trust.
Position Overview
As a Legal Content Editor at RR Digital, you will serve as the quality assurance and editorial authority for all legal content created by our writers and external contributors. You will report to the Content Director. This is a full-time remote position.
This role requires equal parts editorial expertise and legal analytical skill. You are responsible for evaluating the legal accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency of content targeting personal injury and other types of law firms across multiple practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Accuracy Evaluation
  • Evaluate the legal accuracy of all claims, ensuring proper interpretation of statutes, case law, and regulatory language
  • Identify factual errors, legal misrepresentations, or unsupported conclusions and flag them for revision
  • Conduct thorough fact-checking of statistics, citations, attributions, and interpretations of legal documents and medical research
  • Verify that all factual claims are traced to appropriate primary sources (government agencies, peer-reviewed journals, regulatory bodies, case law databases)

Editorial Quality Assurance
  • Review all internal and external writer submissions for clarity, tone, and adherence to RR Digital style guidelines and client brand requirements
  • Provide clear, actionable editorial feedback to writers and request revisions as needed
  • Enforce compliance with client-specific branding guidelines, tone directives, and content brief instructions

Content Optimization
  • Ensure all content is optimized for both SEO and LLM discovery by understanding how search engines and AI language models index, rank, and surface legal content
  • Identify opportunities for content restructuring that improves readability for human users while maintaining clarity and relevance for LLM-assisted research
  • Evaluate content for web readability (appropriate use of headers, bullet points, sentence length, paragraph breaks, scannable formatting)
  • Check internal and external links for accuracy and proper formatting

Writer Collaboration and Feedback
  • Mentor writers through feedback, helping them understand editorial standards and improve their craft
  • Communicate editorial decisions clearly and professionally, even when requesting significant changes
  • Manage revision cycles and coordinate with writers to meet content deadlines

Requirements
Required
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal background. A JD is strongly preferred. Candidates without a JD must demonstrate 5+ years of professional legal research, analysis, or litigation support experience specific to personal injury law.
  • 3+ years of professional editing experience, with demonstrated expertise in legal content
  • Exceptional fact-checking skills with the ability to verify complex legal claims against primary source materials (statutes, case law, regulatory documents, medical literature)
  • Ability to read and interpret statutes, case law, court filings, and regulatory language with accuracy
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, terminology, and procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Google Workspace (including track changes)
  • Working knowledge of AP style and ability to adapt to custom style guides
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to give clear, constructive editorial feedback
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to catch grammatical, formatting, factual, and legal errors
  • Ability to work independently under deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and the ability to evaluate content for search engine optimization
Preferred
  • Experience editing content for law firm websites or legal marketing
  • Familiarity with mesothelioma, asbestos-related litigation, or mass tort litigation
  • Experience with primary source verification and medical/scientific literature review
  • Familiarity with fact-checking tools and databases (Nexis, case law databases, medical journals)
  • Experience working with multiple content contributors or managing editorial workflows
  • Knowledge of legal SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with personal injury law practice and litigation processes

Benefits
