Job description

My client,ย a leading manufacturer of capital equipment serving industrial and manufacturing clients across North America, is seeking a mechanically inclined, customer-focused Technical (Field) Service Representative to join our growing field service team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a technology-leading company in a high-growth, high-impact industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service capital equipment at customer sites
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical systems (electrical troubleshooting a plus)
  • Provide both remote and on-site technical support and training for customers
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to resolve customer issues
  • Travel regionally and occasionally nationally (50%+ travel required)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (Ivy Tech or similar trade schools preferred)
  • Experience: 4+ years in a service technician or mechanical support role.ย  Customer-facing capital equipment industry experience desired.ย  Experience within the furniture, auto and boat seating, and/or apparel a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude; able to read mechanical drawings and schematics
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems (wiring, sensors, PLCs a plus)
    • Familiarity with CAD software preferred
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in the field
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record.ย  Passport for occasional travel into Canada or Mexico.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in industrial environments
    • Willingness to travel 50-75%
