The Enterprise Architect is a critical role across the Wendy’s technical landscape. This anchor position is one that requires a “T”-shaped understanding of technology (ie. Depth in one or more fields: software engineering, data engineering), but with a breadth across multiple disciplines. This role will require soft skills to facilitate relationships and broker trust across the technical leadership, as well as business leaders within the organization. This position will help design the overall EA practice, and help implement Enterprise Architecture disciplines, such as chairing the Architecture Review Board; as well as partnering with domain architects across the organization to help craft principles, patterns, and reference architectures. This position is a “leadership by influence” position, and expected to give status, reporting and recommendations to C-level executives. This position may expand to include people-leadership over Business/Technical Analysts to help undergird the EA practice.


  • Implement the appropriate EA framework and train/educate the technology organization to drive adoption. Provide recommendation / status to VP-level, CTO, CIO for architecture concerns.
  • Assists the organization in vetting large solutions requiring RFP’s by partnering with the PMO to categorize and rank appropriateness. An example of this would be working with data architecture to inventory integration needs, data patterns, etc. This includes large, cross-domain initiatives.
  • Operates independently, and with full confidence, to plan and facilitate Enterprise Architecture ceremonies, such as the ARB. Maintains a “light touch” as far as process, but operates in a high-trust manner with peers and leaders. Becomes the connective tissue to help cross-team collaboration of disparate teams.
  • Develops, recommends, and enhances architecture best practices, such as helping articulate principles, categorize patterns & practices, assisting with standards & policies.
  • Develops/ co-develops reference architectures to help undergird a principled approach to architecture governance.

  • Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred 
  • 10+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience or experience in a related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled at communicating effectively and empathetically with technical and non-technical users
  • Comprehensive understanding of Enterprise Architecture as a practice
  • QSR experience a plus

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
