Job description

Bilingual (Spanish) Business Development Director - International Market Development (Remote - Eligible)

Capital One is seeking a Director for our International Market Development Team who will be responsible for managing the relationship of our Issuing Partnership in North Americas as well as expanding our Commercial Payments footprint in North America and Latin America. The Director will manage client relationships with senior level partners, working with partners to grow our presence, negotiating new and renewal agreements, and assisting marketing and product areas in adding a span of activities and products used by the partners in markets that enhance cardholder experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Represent Discover Network at industry events and trade shows to build brand awareness, foster C-suite relationships, and generate new business leads in the region

  • Oversee strategic and tactical activity, and develop and support talent to deliver business growth and succession requirements

  • Monitor existing partners to assess business performance and ensure that each is performing in the best interests of Global Payment Network; take appropriate mitigating actions when necessary

  • Negotiate favorable and profitable contracts for existing and new partners

  • Assist in the launch of new products and programs for partners in the region

  • Ensure a well-managed approach to the activities in the region

  • Perform activities in compliance with all Anti-Money Laundering, Regulations and Enhanced Due Diligence requirements; monitor along with other areas of DGN to ensure compliance

  • Perform Commercial Payments assessment and recommendations to Issuing Partners in the Americas Region, including but not limited to: Sharing best practices, Product recommendations, Commercial Products Sales Training

  • Monitor market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

  • Client Engagement: Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time

Successful candidates will need to complete a Language Assessment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 8 years of business development, sales, marketing or relationship management experience within the payments industry

  • At least 5 years of commercial credit card experience

  • Fluent in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of business development, sales, marketing or relationship management experience within the payments industry

  • 6+ years of commercial credit card experience

  • People management experience

  • Experience working with key players across targeted markets, including North America and Latin America

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
