Job description

The International Mission Board is seeking a Church Engagement Strategist to strengthen and expand partnerships with key Southern Baptist churches. In this highly relational role, you will help churches deepen their impact on global missions by cultivating meaningful partnerships that increase prayer, generosity, and missionary sending among the nations.
Location: Remote in GA or FL and secondary remote location
Compensation: $74,489-$87,634 annually*
The Church Engagement Strategist combines strategic account management, ministry partnership development, and mobilization leadership. You'll provide concierge-level service to church leaders, helping them identify meaningful opportunities to engage with the International Mission Board's mission and strategic initiatives worldwide.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop deep, trust-based relationships with senior pastors, missions leaders, and key church influencers. Serve as the primary point of contact between assigned churches and the IMB.
  • Create customized engagement strategies tailored to each church's unique vision, culture, and capacity. Research church and denominational trends to identify opportunities for increased missions engagement.
  • Inspire churches to expand their involvement in global missions through prayer, missionary sending, and financial support.
  • Connect churches with missionaries, field initiatives, and strategic mission opportunities.
  • Identify and cultivate new pathways for partnership and engagement.
  • Manage communications, travel planning, CRM records, and engagement tracking.
  • Serve as a bridge between church partners and missionaries serving around the world. Share stories of impact that demonstrate how church partnerships advance the gospel globally.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure churches receive timely resources, updates, and opportunities.
  • Partner with fellow engagement strategists and ministry teams to share best practices and innovative ideas. Contribute to national engagement strategies and organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of partnership activity and engagement outcomes.
  • Assist in cross-functional collaboration to strengthen overall ministry effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and seminary training (MDiv or MRE) or equivalent missionary experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant ministry, missions, church engagement, fundraising, business development, or relationship management experience.
  • Active membership in a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) church.
  • Demonstrated passion for global missions and the Great Commission.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with pastors, church leaders, and diverse congregations.
  • Strong organizational, strategic thinking, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, dashboards, and data analysis tools.
  • Prior IMB field service experience.
  • Frequent domestic travel - up to approximately 40-50%.
  • International travel may be require
