Job description

ExamWorks is seeking a sales professional to join the team as a Director of Business Development.

The hours will be Monday - Friday standard business hours in your time zone. Please note, this role involves 60 - 70% travel, mainly by flight. The other 30 - 40% of the time will be remote.

The Director of Business Development (DBD) is responsible for identifying new client opportunities, as well as increasing referral activity within assigned region, with an emphasis on developing new relationships and expanding existing relationships that lead to larger opportunities for referral growth, both locally and nationally. The Director of Business Development is responsible for working closely with other DBD’s and management to ensure client information is shared for maximization of referral growth. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Drive the development of local, national, and international sales.
  • Work closely with the Regional Account Management team to ensure new clients are treated to the highest standards of customer service to ensure long term relationships are established.
  • Maintain consistent contact with clients; maintain awareness regarding industry standards and client expectations.
  • Work independently and with others to develop and achieve superior customer service, market knowledge and to exceed company’s revenue objective.
  • Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding business in assigned accounts.
  • Focus on new business opportunities to increase referrals and revenue.
  • Increase market share in underperforming accounts.
  • Actively promote services.
  • Gather and exchange information in an effort to increase referral and revenue growth.
  • Represent the company at industry functions, conferences, tradeshows, seminars, meetings, and when necessary, organizes and conducts client entertainment.
  • Evaluate the result of overall sales efforts regularly and report these results to the VP of Sales and VP of National Accounts.
  • Continuously analyzes the market and competition and identify external threats and opportunities; Adapt sales strategy to changing conditions.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and or quarterly updates as directed.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Attend meeting and conferences and travel on an as needed basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing or sales; or five years related experience in outside sales claims management background is preferred
  • Must hold a valid state Driver’s License.
  • Must be proficient in multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and the Internet.
  • Must be able to use intuition and experience to effectively market the company’s services.
  • Must have the ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and develop alternative solutions when dealing with client issues or emotional topics.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to demonstrate team behavior and willing to promote a positive team -oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.
