Remote Internal Coaching information

What is remote internal coaching?

Remote internal coaching is a professional development process where a coach, who is an employee within the same organization, works with colleagues to enhance their skills, performance, and career growth—all conducted virtually using digital communication tools. Unlike external coaches, internal coaches have a deeper understanding of the company’s culture and processes. This approach allows for flexible scheduling, supports remote and hybrid teams, and fosters a supportive environment for continuous learning and development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote internal coach?

To thrive as a Remote Internal Coach, you need a strong background in coaching methodologies, employee development, and organizational psychology, often supported by relevant coaching certifications like ICF or EMCC. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms, digital collaboration tools, and learning management systems is commonly required. Outstanding active listening, empathy, and clear communication skills help foster trust and facilitate meaningful growth conversations remotely. These skills and qualifications are vital for effectively supporting employee development and driving positive organizational change from a distance.

What are some common challenges faced by remote internal coaches and how can they be addressed?

Remote internal coaches often encounter challenges such as building rapport with coachees virtually, navigating time zone differences, and maintaining engagement without in-person cues. To address these, coaches can leverage video conferencing tools with interactive features, set clear communication expectations, and schedule regular check-ins. Additionally, fostering trust through consistent follow-up and using collaborative digital platforms can help bridge the gap created by remote work, ensuring effective coaching relationships and outcomes.

What is the difference between Remote Internal Coaching vs Remote Employee Training?

Remote Employee Training involves delivering structured programs or courses to large groups for skill-building or compliance. While both are remote and involve employee development, coaching emphasizes individual growth, whereas training centers on standardized learning outcomes.

Why this role matters
As a Professional Learning Community (PLC) Facilitator at EdConnective, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring educators get the support they need to thrive-and that students benefit from stronger instruction. We are looking for a team member to guide educator development by facilitating highly effective PLCs of teachers, instructional staff, and/or K-12 leaders.
This is a part-time, hourly remote (work from home) position. Hours will vary based on project needs.
Who we are
At EdConnective, we believe the most powerful tool in any classroom is the educator. Our mission is to ensure every student thrives by supporting exceptional teacher and leader growth. When educators grow, students win-and our work accelerates that growth every day. If that excites you, you're in the right place. We are in search of experienced educators and K-12 leaders with the ability to facilitate efficient and effective PLC meetings, communicate actionable strategies for growth with participants, and build positive rapport with partner schools and districts.
Why you'll love EdConnective:
  • Real Impact, Every Day - Your work will directly improve outcomes for educators and students. Our inboxes are full of stories showing just how transformational this support can be.
  • No Gimmicks, Just Great Work - Our customer approach is consultative, thoughtful, and high-integrity. No pressure tactics. No spammy follow-ups.
  • Elite Team, Shared Mission - You'll collaborate with leaders and mentors who've helped to build iconic education organizations (Rosetta Stone, EverFi, and others) and you'll work alongside expert coaches with thousands of years of combined experience.
  • Smart Tools, Less Busywork - We use modern tech to automate the tedious and amplify the strategic.
  • Work-Life Fit - Flexibility and advance notice for travel help protect your time and energy.
  • Serious About Growth - We invest in you. With a personalized development plan and ongoing learning support, you'll have room to level up fast.

What you'll love to do:
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with K-12 educators and leaders rooted in value, clarity, and results.
  • Facilitate highly effective and collaborative Professional Learning Community meetings among groups of teachers, instructional staff, and/or K-12 leaders.
  • Establish rapport and strong professional relationships with internal team members.
  • Develop open lines of communication with the EdConnective coaching team, sales team, and success team, allowing for questions and needs to be discussed proactively.
  • Maintain accurate and timely participant records, including meeting reports and usage data, throughout PLC implementation to ensure timely delivery of services and high-quality educator experiences.
  • Proactively identify, generate solutions for, and address customer concerns or roadblocks to ensure sustained satisfaction and account retention.
  • Design and deliver regular reporting and communications to customers to highlight progress, emerging trends, and program impact.
  • Create EdConnective advocates by turning happy customers into power users and promoters.
  • Communicate trends and insights gained from PLC facilitation to the internal EdConnective team to facilitate retention and expansion.

What you bring:
  • We are seeking experienced educators to facilitate PLCs of teachers, instructional coaches, and/or K-12 leaders. We welcome applicants who have prior experience in only one of these roles, but experience in multiple is a plus:
    • For Teacher PLCs
      • 5+ years in a classroom teaching role with demonstrated effectiveness in improving student outcomes.
      • Previous instructional coaching experience is preferred.
    • For Instructional Coach PLCs
      • 2+ years of instructional coaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness in building rapport with adult learners.
    • For K-12 Leader PLCs
      • 2+ years of school leadership experience (including principals, building administrators, and district administrators) with demonstrated impact on school- or district-level student outcomes.
  • 2+ years facilitating collaboration among educators in the form of Professional Learning Communities, team meetings, or similar.
  • A proven ability to connect with and support K-12 educators and leaders effectively by determining and communicating specific classroom and coaching strategies to support growth and improvement in student outcomes.
  • A growth mindset and hunger to improve-fast. Our best team members see every challenge as a learning opportunity.
  • Comfort in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment. You're adaptable, resourceful, and thrive on change.
  • Openness to coaching and feedback. You don't just welcome coaching-you thrive on it. We model the same reflective mindset we champion for educators.
  • The ability to turn data into decisions - spot trends, surface insights, and show customers the impact that keeps them coming back.
  • Tech-savviness and fluency with tools like Salesforce and virtual collaboration platforms
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset; thrives in a remote work environment with minimal supervision.
  • Respect for the work of educators and a personal commitment to their success
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience teaching and leading diverse student populations, including students living in poverty
    • An education-related Master's Degree or higher
    • Willingness and ability to travel on an infrequent, as-needed basis for in-person customer interactions
