Position Summary

Our client is currently seeking an Intermediate Full-Stack Developer with Java, Spring Boot and React experience. You will be part of a talented software development team supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The Senior Java Developer will work as part of an Agile team performing DevSecOps. This project represents a multiyear effort for IT Modernization and Transformation requiring tested, secure, and hardened software solutions.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Intermediate full-stack Java Spring Boot developer in support of React-based UI applications.
  • Responsible for participating in the full agile application development life cycle for microservice API development using Java Spring Boot in support of a React front-end web application.
  • Working knowledge of RDMS databases like Postgres and NO SQL databases like Redis
  • Solid experience with automated unit testing and associated technologies (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber)
  • Work collaboratively as a full stack developer on Agile Scrum teams and complete user stories and develop usable code independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
  • Assist development/test teams in activities in support of acceptance testing, load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning as required
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization; contributes to acceptance/functional testing duties and part of incremental feature development
  • Adhere to, promote, and maintain development standards and best practices, and participate in regular code reviews
  • Must possess superior oral and written communication skills to convey issues and ideas clearly and effectively to team members, management, and customers
  • Interface with customer and external teams to explain application functionality and behavior
  • Communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders, and demonstrate functionality when complete or requested

Requirements
Education, Certifications and Years of Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus four (4) years of related experience; or eight (8) to twelve (12) years in Software Development without a degree
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Experience developing code in microservice-based architectures
  • Deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and React.
  • 4+ years experience in Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira / Confluence etc.
  • 2+ years of Agile experience utilizing DevSecOps & CI/CD pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience developing React web applications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with the DoD STIG process
Clearance and Citizenship Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen able to obtain Final Secret DoD clearance

Compensation

Salary Range: $110,000– $140,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, qualifications, skill level, and location. The final salary offer will fall within this range and will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and the specific demands of the role.

Physical Demands

This position primarily involves sedentary work in an office or remote setting.
