Job description

We are looking for a Sr. Sterling Integrator/ EDI Engineer. This is a 2 (two) to 4 (four) months contract position in Raleigh, North Carolina with our client. You can work 100% remote (anywhere in USA) for this position. In this role as a Sr. Sterling Integrator/ EDI Engineer, you will work closely with IT Enterprise Architecture, Supply Chain, customers, and vendors in electronic communication of purchase order, ship notice, invoice, and other business data for the company. You will share accountability for secure managed file transport (MFT) & EDI including BPML, SI, and ITX development as well as integration with Kafka, REST API, MuleSoft, and other cloud-based applications and tools.

Responsibilities for a Sr. Sterling Integrator/EDI Engineer:

  • Sterling integrator complex BP and map design, development, and testing including integration, extended rules, and user exits
  • Interface with and support AIX, Linux, Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), Oracle DB, SQL, & stored procedure design, development and execution
  • Design and develop integrated automation for ITX and SI error handling with business user friendly messages to trade partners for compliance failures
  • Manage complex SI/EDI/MFT and ITX technical support and application performance activities

Required Skills as a Sr. Sterling Integrator/EDI Engineer:

  • 7+ years of experience working with IBM Sterling Integrator (SI) BP and map design, development, and integration must include BP development from scratch in addition to modifying existing code
  • 5+ years XML transformation experience is a must have
  • Experience with of AIX, Linux, Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), Oracle DB, & stored procedure design, development and execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with and influence others
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, prioritization, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to balance multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor s degree and 7+ years SI EDI technical work experience, including minimum 3 years retail EDI or comparable mix of education and experience
