This position will report to the Assistant Director of Integrated Planning and will lead the endtoend Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process for the Retail Business Unit, ensuring alignment across demand, supply, finance, category, and customer development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position will report to the Assistant Director of Integrated Planning and is responsible for leading the endtoend Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process for the Retail Business Unit. The IBP Lead serves as a cross-functional business partner, aligning demand, supply, and financial plans to drive performance, enable decision-making, and ensure the business can deliver against its objectives. 

ROLE OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The Retail IBP Lead sits at the center of the business - connecting Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations. This role is accountable for translating strategy into executable plans, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving alignment across teams to support customer commitments and financial outcomes. 
  • Own the Retail IBP Operating Rhythm
    • Represent Retail across the IBP cycle (Portfolio, Demand, Supply, and MBR), ensuring alignment across commercial, financial, and operational plans
    • Drive clear outputs from each step, culminating in actionable decisions at the Retail MBR
  • Drive Business Performance & Decision-Making
    • Frame key business questions, risks, and opportunities for leadership
    • Facilitate trade-off discussions across service, cost, inventory, and growth priorities
    • Ensure decisions are made with a clear understanding of business impact 
  • Translate Strategy into Execution
    • Convert commercial strategies (innovation, distribution, promotion, category growth) into integrated demand, supply, and financial plans
    • Ensure plans are actionable, measurable, and aligned across functions
  • Lead Scenario Planning & Risk Management
    • Identify and quantify risks and opportunities (e.g., demand variability, supply constraints, cost pressures)
    • Develop scenarios and recommended actions to support decision-making
    • Ensure contingency plans are in place and understood
  • Enable Cross-Functional Alignment 
    • Act as a connector across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations
    • Build strong relationships across the organization to drive alignment and accountability
    • Elevate and resolve issues that require cross-functional coordination and quantify risks and opportunities (e.g., demand variability, supply constraints, cost pressures)
  • Drive Continuous Improvement
    • Improve the quality of planning inputs, outputs, and decision-making over time
    • Partner with the IBP team to evolve tools, reporting, and processes
    • Help establish and reinforce best practices across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS: Required 

A bachelor's degree. 

5+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, planning, or related roles within CPG or a similar environment

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority

Strong business acumen with the ability to connect commercial, operational, and financial drivers 

Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics and drive decisions

Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced, evolving environment 

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Experience in business strategy, revenue growth management, demand planning or supply planning

Familiarity with planning tools and systems 

Experience working with data and analytics to inform business decisions

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: Hormel Foods offers an excellent benefits package. The base pay range for this position $113,500-$158,900 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills set, level of experience, and specific office location.
