Associate Criminal Defense Attorney and DUI defense.
This position is ideal for recent law school graduates.
Those licensed to practice law in New Jersey will be considered for this position.
Criminal practice seeking a full-time licensed New Jersey attorney to handle defense files. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys legal research and courtroom advocacy - and who wants meaningful work on cases that matter to clients.
Responsibilities
• Handle a caseload of criminal defense files from intake through resolution
• Appear in municipal and Superior Courts, both in person and virtually
• Draft, research, and file pretrial motions, including motions to suppress, motions to dismiss, and other case-specific motions
• Review discovery, analyze police reports, and identify defense strategies and weaknesses in the prosecution's case
• Communicate with clients, update them on case status, and provide sound legal counsel throughout the process
• Negotiate with prosecutors on plea agreements where appropriate, while always pursuing the best possible outcome for clients
Qualifications
• Active license to practice law in New Jersey in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar
• Ability and willingness to appear in court both in person and via remote/virtual hearings
• Legal research and writing skills
