Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, high-performing, results-driven Mortgage Loan Processor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving loans efficiently from processing to closing while applying critical thinking and attention to detail to ensure precision, compliance, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing competing priorities, and proactively evaluates complex loan scenarios to deliver accuracy, speed, and value to both internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Loan File Review & Intake
    • Review loan applications structured by the Loan Coordinator to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with program and investor requirements.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date data in internal systems to ensure pipeline integrity.
  • Documentation & Verification
  • Collect, verify, and analyze borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, and property), identifying risks early.
  • Order and manage third-party services (appraisals, title, VOEs, flood certifications) and resolve documentation issues in collaboration with borrowers, loan officers, loan coordinators, and underwriters.
  • Pipeline, File & Conditions Management
    • Own a pipeline of active loans from processing through closing, driving files to meet all milestones and timelines.
    • Manage underwriting conditions from approval through final clearance, submitting clean, well-documented packages and minimizing re-conditions.
    • Provide proactive updates and coordination with loan officers, loan coordinators, underwriters, and closers to support on-time closings.
    • Compliance & Quality Assurance
      • Ensure all files meet federal, state, investor, and company guidelines.
      • Prepare files for closing by confirming all conditions are satisfied for a smooth and timely closing experience.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of proven success as a mortgage loan processor or in a related mortgage operations role.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of Conventional and Non-QM lending guidelines, with a proven ability to navigate complex loan scenarios.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of handling high-volume pipelines without compromising quality.
    • Advanced time management and prioritization capabilities to consistently meet or beat deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear, professional interactions with borrowers, internal teams, and external partners.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Montebello, NY office. We are willing to offer fully remote flexibility for exceptional candidates that have a proven track record of remote success. The salary range is $60,000 - $75,000.
