Job description

You will provide leadership direction of a claim adjusting team. Claim adjusting teams investigate and maintain property/casualty claims. Determine liability, secure information, reviews coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims. May work in the field or central location. Direct conformity with the terms of each policy and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, established standards, and procedures of the company. Will specialize in liability claims and will lead a team of desk adjusters. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of location and will be considered based upon the needs of the role.
Position Compensation Range:
$88,000.00 - $145,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
Primary Accountabilities
โ€ข Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support ongoing development.
โ€ข Lead with influence and expertise. Contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
โ€ข Supports and environment of teaming where adjusters make decisions and close files within and outside of their assigned inventory. Foresees issues that may require intervention. Develop and shares innovative and effective solutions for dealing with problems, situations and conflicts.
โ€ข Complies with Unfair Claims Practices Acts and ensures handling of claims in good faith. Follow Local and Corporate Guidelines, Company Claim Bulletins, and the Company Code of Ethics. Respond to inquiries and handle complaints from individuals or their representatives, insurance departments, Consumer Affairs, and other agencies.
โ€ข Establishes, communicates, and implements departmental plans, objectives, and strategies.
โ€ข Participate as member of the management team.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
โ€ข Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
โ€ข Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work independently at a location removed from immediate supervision.
โ€ข Solid knowledge of property casualty insurance/claim industry and regulatory environment.

โ€ข Demonstrated thorough understanding policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.

Additional Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • Commercial liability claim experience is preferred.

Licenses
โ€ข Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
โ€ข Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Travel Requirements
โ€ข Up to 20%.
โ€ข Catastrophe travel up to 75%.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
