Job description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF IMPACT GIVING (GRANTS, PARTNERSHIPS & ANNUAL GIVING)

MISSION: Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chileda's population includes children and young adults with special needs including Severe/Profound Autism, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs.

SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Impact Giving (Grants, Partnerships & Annual Giving) to join our team. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely or hybrid via our La Crosse campus. The Assistant Director will be a key player in our mission, responsible for partnering with the Vice President of Philanthropic Impact to maximize the three potential funding channels to generate support for Chileda. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of being entrepreneurial in securing support via the combination of Grants, Partnerships and Annual Giving, strong verbal and written communication skills, working in a team environment, and a solid understanding of Grants Proposal and Annual Giving Administration for the Non-Profit sector.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a BA/BS with 2 years' experience or AA with 4 years' experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in grant writing, proposal development, and annual giving campaigns, resulting in successful funding awards and strengthened donor partnerships.
  • Understands the nonprofit and philanthropic landscape, recognizing and aligning with the priorities, requirements, and interests of funders, partners, and philanthropists to build effective relationships and achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong research skills to identify and analyze potential funding sources and the latest annual giving trends.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various CRMs for philanthropy with a strong desire to learn

GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: This is a full-time salaried position working an average of 40 hours per week. We offer flexible hours, with the option to work remotely or hybrid at the La Crosse campus whose normal business hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Additional hours may be required at times. This schedule would be perfect for someone who is looking to make a difference while managing their own time.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Philanthropic Impact

JOB DUTIES:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities, institutional partnerships and annual giving strategies that align with Chileda's mission, vision and programs.
  • Prepare and submit well-researched, compelling proposals and applications for Grants & Partnerships.
  • Ability to collaborate with Chileda leadership and subject matter experts to gather information required for executing this role is vital.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of deadlines for submission of grant & proposals; follow up reports and stewardship programs
  • Manage post-submission follow-ups for Grants and Partnership Proposals, including reporting on progress and outcomes for Grants, Partnerships, and Annual Giving
  • Stay updated on trends in grant-making and funding opportunities in the non-profit sector.
  • Maintain detailed records of past proposals, submissions, and outcomes for internal tracking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the Job Duties of this position. The physical demands of this role are minimum, as it is a fully remote, desk-based role. The Assistant Director of Impact Giving will spend extended periods of time sitting or standing at a computer writing, researching, and communicating via email and via virtual meetings. Candidates must have the ability to sit for a prolonged period of time, focus on detailed work, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position allows the flexibility to work remotely or hybrid at one of our Wisconsin campuses. Job tasks will be completed at a desk with minimal, if any, interaction with Chileda students or clients. Communication will be primarily through virtual meetings, email, and collaboration tools to ensure a seamless remote work experience. This position will be issued a Chileda laptop and equipment necessary to do the main functions of the role.
