Director, Proposal Management - Early Development Services

Labcorp is seeking a remote-based, Director, Proposal Management, Early Development Services to join our global proposal team.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision:

  • Develops and executes the Proposal Management department strategy in alignment with commercial, operational, and organizational priorities.

  • Leads transformational initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, scalability, customer experience, and business outcomes across multiple teams and functions.

  • Identifies opportunities to enhance departmental performance through innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement.

  • Uses business, operational, and financial insights to inform strategic priorities, resource planning, and investment recommendations.

  • Partners with commercial leadership to support business growth, customer satisfaction, and achievement of revenue and order targets.

  • Recommends organizational design, workforce plans, and capability-building strategies to support current and future business needs.

  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement by aligning departmental initiatives with organizational goals and long-term performance objectives.

  • Uses financial performance, business forecasts, and operational metrics to guide strategic priorities and investment decisions.


Leadership:

  • Builds and maintains a high-performing management team through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and leadership development.

  • Supports managers in effectively leading employee performance, engagement, career development, and talent retention.

  • Establishes performance expectations and accountability measures that drive operational excellence and business results.

  • Influences cross-functional leaders and business partners to drive alignment, remove barriers, and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Builds strong partnerships with commercial, operational, and functional leaders to improve organizational effectiveness and customer outcomes.

  • Champions organizational change initiatives and guides teams through transformation while ensuring employee engagement and adoption.

  • Ensures business continuity through proactive planning, risk mitigation, resource management, and operational oversight.

  • Uses financial and operational performance data to evaluate opportunities, prioritize resources, and improve departmental effectiveness.

  • Helps leaders understand how team performance, productivity, and resource utilization contribute to business and financial outcomes.


Management:

  • Leads global proposal management operations supporting multiple service lines, business units, and geographic regions

  • Accountable for departmental productivity, service delivery, workload management, and operational performance metrics.

  • Develops and manages resource forecasts and capacity plans to support business objectives.

  • Evaluates the business impact and return on investment of process improvement initiatives, technology solutions, and operational changes.

  • Monitors departmental performance using operational and financial metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Provides oversight for global policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Directs resolution of complex operational, customer, and business issues while balancing stakeholder needs and organizational priorities.

  • Supports revenue growth by ensuring timely, high-quality proposal delivery and effective utilization of departmental resources.

  • Identifies organizational risks, develops mitigation strategies, and ensures continuity of performance and service delivery.

  • Makes strategic resource allocation decisions balancing business priorities, customer needs, workforce demands, and financial considerations.

  • Accountable for departmental financial performance through effective resource allocation, productivity optimization, and support of commercial growth objectives.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of direct CRO experience in commercial, operations or labs or Associate's degree and 14 or more years of direct CRO experience in commercial, operations or labs or High School Diploma/GED equivalent and 16 or more years of direct CRO experience in commercial, operations or labs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years in a supervisory role.

  • 2 or more years' experience leading complex operational or commercial functions with accountability for performance, resource allocation, and business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing functional strategies that support business growth, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence.

  • Proven ability to build high-performing leadership teams through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee, business, and organizational information.


About the Role

Leadership role responsible for developing and executing the Proposal Management strategy across multiple business areas and service lines. Accountable for driving operational excellence, organizational performance, process transformation, and talent development while aligning departmental priorities with broader business objectives.

This position is remote based in the US.

Pay Range $150,000 - $155,000 annually + annual bonus eligibility

All job offers will bebased on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicabledegrees/certifications,as well as internal equity and market data.The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan.Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
