They leverage digital tools to collaborate with stakeholders, measure the impact of innovation efforts, and ensure alignment with overall business goals. Strong communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Member of the Sales Team - Full Cycle

Brightidea New Job Board

San Francisco, CA • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Member of the Sales Team - Full Cycle
Reports to: Head of Sales
About Brightidea
Brightidea builds ai powered innovation management software that helps large organizations turn employee ideas into impact. We're a lean, fully remote team of ~40 building a category-defining product - which means every hire has outsized leverage, and the sales org is small enough that the right AE can shape not just pipeline, but the product itself.
The Role
We're hiring a new kind of Account Executive - one who doesn't just sell the product as it exists today, but actively finds the gaps between what a prospect needs and what Brightidea currently does, and closes that gap in real time.
This is a full-cycle sales role: you'll generate your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, run the sales process end to end, and close. But the differentiator is what happens when a deal stalls on "we don't do that yet." Instead of logging a feature request and waiting, you'll use AI tools to prototype the missing capability yourself - vibe-coding a working demo, a proof-of-concept integration, or a custom view - or you'll diagnose quickly and confidently that it's genuinely not feasible right now, and reposition the deal accordingly.
This is a remote role however we prefer candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York Area for in person collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Own full-cycle sales. Source, qualify, run discovery and demos, negotiate, and close new business - no handoffs required.
  • Prospect relentlessly. Build and execute your own outbound motion (email, LinkedIn, calling, AI tools) to fill your own pipeline alongside any inbound/marketing-sourced leads.
  • Find the gaps. In discovery and demo calls, identify where Brightidea's current product doesn't fully meet a prospect's workflow or requirement.
  • Build the bridge. Use AI coding tools to rapidly prototype a solution - a script, a lightweight integration, a custom automation, a mockup of the missing feature - that lets the prospect see (and often use) the fix before the deal stalls.
  • Know when to say no. Just as important as building: quickly and technically assess when something can't be reasonably solved for, so you don't overpromise or waste the prospect's time.
  • Feed the product loop. Turn what you learn and build in the field into structured input for Product and Engineering - you're often the first person to prove a feature's value before it's ever formally scoped.
  • Forecast accurately and manage a pipeline with discipline in our CRM.
What Makes This Role Different
Most AEs sell around product gaps. This AE closes them. You're equal parts closer and builder - comfortable being judged on quota and on your ability to stand up a working prototype between one call and the next. You'll have real influence on the roadmap because you'll be the one showing, not just telling, what's possible.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of full-cycle, mid-market/enterprise, B2B SaaS sales experience, with a track record of self-sourced pipeline, closed-won revenue and quota attainment.
  • Genuine hands-on comfort with modern AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, v0, Replit) and you've actually shipped something with them, even informally
  • Enough technical fluency to reason about feasibility: what's a quick script, what's an API integration, what's a real engineering lift
  • Strong outbound instincts - you don't wait for leads, you build them
  • Comfortable in front of technical and executive buyers alike; able to translate business pain into both a sales narrative and a technical prototype
  • Curious, low-ego, and energized by ambiguity - this role doesn't have a well-worn playbook yet
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling into innovation, product management, or enterprise operations personas
  • Prior experience at an early-stage or lean-team SaaS company where AEs wear multiple hats
  • A portfolio, GitHub, or demo of something you've vibe-coded

Our Company & Culture
We are a tight-knit, entrepreneurial minded team of self-starters who show up every day with a singular mission: to transform the way the world innovates. Our primary focus this year is to continue to add exceptionally talented and motivated individuals to the Brightidea team. We are ambitious, bold, highly-collaborative, focused, and we aim to win. We take a humble approach to changing the way corporate R&D teams run innovation challenges.
Anyone joining our company will have the opportunity to shape the culture and be an integral part of setting it up for long term success. If you identify with being humble, T-shaped, and relentlessly resourceful then this could be the perfect team for you to shine in.
Brightidea believes that everyone has the ability to make a difference and that a diverse team generates more innovation where the best ideas win. Just as our product invites organizations to crowd source innovation across their workforce, Brightidea is inclusive and does not discriminate. We accept everybody.
Compensation
$150,000 - $300,000 OTE depending on size of quota
