Tax Manager (100% Fully Remote)
California-based CPA Firm | $130K–$150K+ base
As a highly regarded mid-sized CPA firm headquartered in California, we are continuing our rapid growth and seeking to add top-tier talent to our team. We’re looking for a Tax Manager with experience in pass-through taxation (S-Corps, LLCs, Partnerships), high-net-worth individuals, and closely held businesses. This is a fully remote opportunity offering direct access to firm leadership, influence on strategy, and a clear path to partnership for the right candidate.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide comprehensive tax guidance to clients, including strategic planning, compliance, research, M&A-related matters, and transfer pricing considerations.
  • Review and analyze financial data to prepare accurate tax workpapers and filings for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.
  • Serve as the lead reviewer for complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency with professional standards.
  • Develop tax projections and support clients with proactive tax planning and advisory services.
  • Conduct in-depth research on diverse and complex tax topics to provide practical solutions and insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across all levels, including staff, seniors, managers, and partners to deliver excellent client service.
  • Lead, mentor, and train junior staff on client engagements, fostering professional development and technical growth.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field of study
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client service mindset with a focus on building lasting relationships
  • Collaborative when interacting with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Nice to have: 2+ years of experience at the Tax Manager level
